The No. 34 Mizzou tennis team continued it’s winning streak with multiple victories on Saturday afternoon at the Mizzou Tennis Complex. The Tigers defeated Central Arkansas 4-1 and Missouri State 4-0, improving to 10-1 on the season.

Mizzou won the first three singles matches and took the doubles point to finish the first match of the doubleheader on Saturday. Junior Mackenzy Middlebrooks and sophomore Ellie Wright beat out Chunxi Xin and Marli Van Heerden, 6-2 at No.1. At No. 3, junior Gabrielle Goldin and sophomore Marta Oliveira defeated Rada Manataweewat and Fuka Nonoyama, 6-1.

In singles, Wright put Mizzou at 2-0 with a 6-4 victory over Van Heerden at No. 4. Junior Serena Nash played at No. 2 and posted a 7-5, 6-3 win over Mei Ishimura, while Middlebrooks took a 7-5, 6-3 win against Fuka Nonoyama at No. 1 to ensure the Tiger win over Central Arkansas.

Ringing in Missouri’s seventh-consecutive victory came with the defeat of Missouri State in match number two of the doubleheader. Wins from Middlebrooks and Wright, both at No.1 in doubles, and Abraham and sophomore Taylor Gruber at No. 3 allowed Mizzou to gain some early points. Middlebrooks and Wright defeated Anna Alons and Burger, 6-0, while Gruber and Abraham beat out Phoebe Boeschen and Fati Khamissi, 6-4.

Singles wins at No. 1, 3 and 4 sealed the deal for a Tiger victory. Middlebrooks improved to 10-1 with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Alye Darter at No. 1. Abraham took a 6-0, 6-0 victory over Boeschen at No. 4, improving the freshmen’s spring record to a perfect 7-0. Finally, freshman Lisa Fukutoku finalized the Tiger win after she defeated Khamissi, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 3.
