Mizzou Volleyball has been absolutely dominant recently, winning six in a row. They looked to continue their run at their temporary home of Mizzou Arena against the Tigers of LSU. LSU had been on a run of the opposite kind coming into the match. They had lost two in a row and were only 7-14 and 2-8 in SEC play going into the match.

The first set was closely contested. Mizzou held a lead through a lot of the set, but LSU twice took one point leads. Mizzou finished strong, however, and won the set 25-21. As closely contested as the first set was, the second set was even closer. LSU came back from 24-22 down to tie it at 24, but Mizzou got the final two points of the set to win 26-24. After two close sets, Mizzou dominated the third. Missouri took a quick 9-2 lead and never looked back on the way to a 25-12 victory to clinch the match. This big SEC win extends the Tigers’ win streak to seven and puts them at 19-4 on the season, 9-2 in SEC play.

The Tigers also earned more recognition after the win when their national ranking moved up from 24th to 18th. There were some very impressive individual
performances as well, with Tyanna Omazic ending with 11 kills, a career high for her. Kylie Deberg has herself a night as well, totaling 19 points. The Fighting Kreklows are on a roll, and LSU, like everyone else who has faced Mizzou recently, weren’t able to stop them.
