Tennessee played at Mizzou Sunday afternoon. The Missouri Tigers (7-6-1) held the Lady Vols (8-5-1) scoreless the entire game thanks to McKenna Sheehan. Sheehan, coming off a 4-save game as her first career start, saved the Lady Vols’ first and only shot on the net. Mizzou’s defense shutdown Tennessee’s offense, not even letting a shot through in the first half. Tennessee’s goalie, Charli Pogany, had an excellent performance, making 6 saves before the final 2 shots by Missouri.
The Tigers secured their first conference win when the offense finally managed to get the ball past Pogany. Julissa Cisneros and Sarah Luebbert scored the 2 goals of the night. They assisted each other, giving Cisneros her sixth goal of the season and Luebbert her seventh. The win for Missouri makes their conference record 1-4-1 and ends the team’s losing streak, while giving Tennessee (2-4 SEC) their fourth conference loss of the season.

Missouri will head to Lexington to take on the Kentucky Wildcats this Friday, October 18.
