Mizzou Volleyball continued conference play Friday night at the Hearnes Center against Georgia for a two-match series. The Tigers went into the series hoping to recover from their last week losses.

Tigers’ Kylie Deberg opened the match up with a kill. The Tigers proceeded to dominate offensively with Deberg, Andrea Fuentes, Anna D’Cruz and Anna Dixon. The Tigers controlled the outcome of the first set, winning 25-23.

Mizzou began the second set allowing Georgia to take an early lead. The Tigers brought on their defensive play with some attack errors coming from the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs then fell short from their own attack errors, allowing the Tigers to take set two, 25-17.

The Tigers hoped to end the match within the third set. The Bulldogs gained the lead for set two, testing the Tigers defense. The Tigers did not back down as Deberg and Dariana Hollingswort-Santana took the lead with back-to-back kills. The Bulldogs couldn’t gain back their early lead, a serve from the bulldogs allowing Dixon to receive the ball and gain the set point for the Tigers. The Tigers took set three and the match with, 25-17.

The Tigers were able to gain a win over the Bulldogs match one, which helped them claim their ninth conference victory and keep their fourth standings in SEC Volleyball.

The two-match series with Georgia concludes Saturday afternoon in Columbia. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. and the match will be aired online at SEC Network+ via WatchESPN.
