The Missouri Tigers women’s volleyball (18-4, 9-1 SEC) team took on Texas A&M (13-7, 7-2 SEC) on the road in College Station, Texas, on Wednesday night. The undefeated team took their first loss in SEC play against the Aggies in a 3-1 match.

The first set was evenly played and involved many back-and-forth rallies. The Tigers took set one, beating the Aggies 25-22. Carly Kan and Kira Larson both had five kills in the first set to lead the Tigers to victory.

The second set was also intense; this time it was the Aggies who won 25-22, tying the match at one apiece. The Tigers once again failed to get the job done offensively or defensively in the third set, losing 25-20.

In the fourth set, the Tigers got off to a slow start, dropping four of the first five points. But Mizzou fought back to tie it and then kept the score close throughout the set. No team had more than a one-point lead until the Aggies won the set 25-23 to take the match.

Although the Tigers came up short, Larson had 15 kills and Kan was right behind her with 14. Overall, the Tigers had 55 kills.

Mizzou will look to rebound against another SEC opponent, Mississippi State, when they return home to Columbia on Sunday.
