Saturday, Nov 1 –

After losing two consecutive matches, the Missouri Tigers women’s volleyball team came out in full force to sweep the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday night (25-13, 25-21, 25-22).

Sophomore Carly Kan continued her incredible season by posting 10 kills and leading the team to victory. Fellow sophomore Emily Thater, junior Regan Peltier, freshman Kasey Reuter, and senior Whitney Little each contributed five kills.

The Tigers took started well, taking an early lead in the first set. They were up 8-2 before the Razorbacks used their first time out. It was not long before Arkansas used their second time out when the score became 13-4.

Kan and senior Emily Wilson each had four kills in the set; thus, securing the 25-13 first set win for the Tigers.

Despite the first set loss, Arkansas took the lead early in the second set. A kill by Reuter brought the score to 7- 8 so that the Tigers trailed by one.

However, the Tigers quickly came back to take the score 19-14 and force Arkansas to use a timeout. The Razorbacks could not come back, though, as a kill from Kan won the set 25-21 for the Tigers.

Similar to the second set, Arkansas began with an early lead in the third. As the score remained close, however, Mizzou took a 14-13 lead after a kill from Wilson.

In the middle of the match, Kan became the SEC leader with her 15th double-double of this season. Mizzou went on to win the set 25-22.

The Tigers play at 3 pm on Sunday against No. 23 Texas A&M at the Hearnes Center. The match will air on the SEC Network.
