Sunday, October 18–

Mizzou traveled to Georgia to take on the Bulldogs in another SEC matchup and came away victorious in straight sets. This was the Tigers’ second win of the weekend, pushing them to 17-2 (5-1) for the season.

Both teams played well from the first serve in the first set battling to a 17-17 tie before the Mizzou attack simply overpowered the Bulldogs. Georgia was left to look on in stunned silence following an 8-0 Mizzou run to close the first set.

The Tigers kept up their stellar play in the second and third sets, winning 25-19 and 25-16. Courtney Eckenrode showcased a brilliant serving display in the second set, tallying four consecutive aces to carry the Tigers past the Bulldogs. The Tigers were able to breeze through the third set behind the strong play of Carly Kan and Alyssa Munlyn.

Kan played with the same assertive and aggressive nature that has made her such a force to be reckoned with tallying nine kills and seven digs. After a lackadaisical showing in Friday’s win over Ole Miss, Munlyn returned to form on Sunday adding 9 kills alongside two blocks.

Mizzou returns home this Friday to play the Mississippi State Bulldogs 13-8 (3-5) for the second time this year. Mizzou took the first match in four sets.
