Wednesday night, the No. 9 ranked Mizzou volleyball team battled the Arkansas Razorbacks at the Hearnes Center. The Tigers took it to the Razorbacks for the fifth match of the season winning the first two sets 23-13 and 25-22. The Razorbacks came back and won the next two sets 21-25 and 25-27. The Tigers fired up after losing the last two sets and dominated the fifth and final set winning that 15-6. This puts the Tigers at 4-2 on the season. 

Kylie Deberg, Mizzou senior, had a career high 28 kills, eight aces and 37 points. Her 37 points tied her for the first time in single match history putting her on the leaderboard with Paola Ampudia’s game against the Kansas Jayhawks back in 2009. Deberg’s eight aces tied her for third in a single match and she had the most aces by a Tiger on the service line in 11 years. 

Kylie Deberg and Andrea Fuentes, red shirt junior, had their second double doubles of the season. Deberg with 28 kills and 14 digs and Fuentes with 48 assists and 14 digs. Fuentes bypassed her 2,500 assists in her career and recorded a total of six kills. 

The Tigers have won the opening set in all five matches they have played this fall and do not plan to stop anytime soon. Key players like Deberg and Fuentes have helped lead the Tigers to their successful season so far. The Tigers take on the Razorbacks again tomorrow, Thursday Nov. 5th for their home finale of the fall season.
