The Missouri volleyball team came off a huge come-from-behind win against Texas A&M Sunday night and they hoped to carry that momentum into their fourth game of conference play against Ole Miss at home.

The Tigers started the match strong, with 18 kills and only one error in the first set. They defeated the Rebels in the first set 25-18. Kylie Deberg led with seven kills.

Unfortunately for the Tigers, they were not able to keep their consistency throughout the rest of the match. In the second set, Mizzou earned 14 kills, but also committed eight hitting errors and four service errors, including one on game point, giving the Rebels the second set, 25-20.

Capitalizing on Mizzou’s errors was the name of Ole Miss’s game for the rest of the match. The third and fourth sets were similar to the second with the Tigers committing 17 hitting errors and five service errors between the final two sets. Mizzou dropped the third and fourth set to give Ole Miss their fourth conference win, keeping their undefeated status and remaining at the top of the SEC standings.

Deberg led Mizzou with 25 kills, adding to her very impressive junior season. She currently leads the SEC in kills and service aces on the season.

The Rebels were led by junior Emily Stroup with 18 kills on the night.

The Tigers have over a week to turn around as they take on the Auburn Tigers at Auburn next Friday, Oct. 18. They hope to take unranked Auburn to put them at a winning conference record.
