The Mizzou Women’s Basketball team easily handled business against Fontbonne this Tuesday for a 121-40 victory. This is the second exhibition game of the season for Women’s Basketball, as well as their second blowout win. The Tigers began their domination as soon as the game started, finishing the first quarter with a score 28-7. In the first quarter, the Tigers were efficient from both the free throw line (81.8%), and inside of the perimeter (50%). Each quarter, the Tigers finished in the lead. The average margin of deficit for each quarter was 20 points.

Elle Brown led the Tigers in scoring with 24 total points. Brown finished the game shooting 84.6% from the field. Playing impressive defense, guard Aijha Blackwell, guard finished with 9 steals and 5 defensive rebounds. Blackwell also led the team in assists, with 7. Her stunning performance had her on quadruple-double watch, which only a few basketball players in history have ever achieved! Ahead of this season, Blackwell has already been predicted to be an All-SEC player. Brown and Blackwell were assisted offensively with great scoring from forwards Hayley Frank and Hannah Schuchts, with 17 and 14 points respectively.

Overall, the Tigers were able to achieve their Tuesday night victory by dominating the paint, and scoring off of turnovers and fast breaks. This was yet another great opportunity for the Mizzou Women’s Basketball team to continue building their team chemistry in preparation for their first regular season game against Western Illinois. The Tigers’ first game will take place at 7 PM, Tuesday, November 5th, at Mizzou Arena.
