It was a tough game in Columbia, Missouri for the Missouri women’s basketball team, which ended in a five-point loss against the Tennessee Volunteers. This was Mizzou’s sixth loss of the season under 10 points or less, five coming from ranked opponents.

Both teams played a back-to-forth first quarter, The Lady Volunteers taking the lead the first 10 minutes of play 9-2, with Missouri taking the lead 18-17 into the second. In that quarter, the Tigers continued their offensive lead back-to-back 3PTRS to push the lead, giving Missouri a 36-34 lead at halftime. In the third quarter, the Lady Volunteers offense woke up putting up 21 points. Only to still fall behind at the end of the third 60-55, Mizzou. But in the fourth Mizzou’s defense started slacking and couldn’t contain their three-quarter lead, only gaining 13 points to Tennessee’s 23 points. Falling to the Lady Volunteers 78-73.

It was an all-around team effort for the Tigers with four players scoring in the double digits led by sophomore Aijha Blackwell and redshirt junior Haley Troup.
