Cierra Porter put up 23 points along with 18 rebounds, and Sophie Cunningham added 15 points and 10 rebounds as the Missouri Tigers pulled away in the 4th quarter to beat the Saint Louis Billikens 70-58 on Friday night.

Cierra Porter enjoyed her best game of her career, with 15 of her 23 points all came in the 4th quarter. Sophie Cunningham’s double-double was the first of the season for the junior. Amber Smith chipped in with 13 points and Jordan Frericks had 9 points and 5 rebounds.
Jackie Kemph led the way for Saint Louis with 18 points and 7 assists. Maddison Gits scored 14 points in just 15 minutes of play while Tara Dusharm was solid off the bench with 12 points and 6 rebounds.

The Billikens stuck with the Tigers through the first 3 quarters of play, although the 4th quarter proved to be the turning point in the game for Missouri. Porter was huge down the stretch as she was a force on both sides of the ball. It seemed as if Saint Louis simply couldn’t find an answer for her as she fed it to Amber Smith for a lay-up which would cap off a 13-7 run at one point. The following possession she would knock down a long-range two-pointer to extend the Tigers’ lead to 4 and they never looked back. Missouri outscored Saint Louis 31-17 in the 4th en route to the victory.

The Tigers obliterated SLU on the glass as they snagged 42 rebounds to the Billikens 29.

With the victory, Missouri extended their winning streak to 8 games and their regular season nonconference home winning streak to 50 games.

The Tigers will go back to work on Sunday with a home game against Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
