Missouri softball lost against Oklahoma by a score of five to two on Saturday. Oklahoma is the top ranked team in the nation.

Missouri jumped out to an early lead in the top of the second inning on a solo homerun from Emma Raabe. This was Raabe’s fourth home run of the season.

The Missouri lead was short lived though as Oklahoma catcher Kinzie Hansen tied it up with a homer of her own in the bottom half of the second.

In the fourth, Hansen drove in another run for the Sooners with a single down the line. Back to Back homers for Oklahoma from Jocelyn Alo and Tiare Jennings gave OU a four to one lead in the fifth.

Mizzou tried to mount a comeback in the sixth after a solo home run from Kendyll Bailey but the Mizzou bats could not muster any more runs.  The score was 5-2 at the end of the sixth and Missouri put up a scoreless seventh as well, giving Oklahoma the win.

Giselle Juarez pitched a complete game giving up two earned runs on three hits while striking out 11. Juarez earned the win and is now 6-0 on the year.

Lauren Krings was charged with the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits through four innings. It was Krings first loss of the season as her record falls to 3-1. Mizzou fell to 14-3 on the year with the loss.

The games were a part of the Courtyard Marriott tournament.
