The Tigers took on the Rebels for the second time this season at home, and although it was closer than the last game, the Tigers could not come up with much of a lead at all as they fell to Ole Miss, 60-53. Mizzou trailed in double digits and came back in the second half, but Ole Miss had a late surge that helped seal the win for the Rebels.

Sophomore Kobe Brown led the Tigers in scoring with 12 points, while Smith & Smith Incorporated (Mark and Dru Smith) led the team in three-pointers with five combined shots made outside the arc. Jeremiah Tilmon, who was not at the last game against Ole Miss due to a family emergency, got his seventh double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding four blocks and three steals to the stat line.

As a team, the Tigers needed to do better at the foul line. Mizzou ended the game with a 54.5% free throw percentage compared to the Rebels’ 78.9%. Also, Mizzou’s defense allowed 14 second-chance points coming from 15 offensive rebounds throughout the game for the Rebels, which helped them win the game.

The Tigers drop to 7-7 on the season in conference play, and 14-7 overall. They are scheduled to play Texas A&M on Saturday at 5:00 PM at Mizzou Arena, however, that game has been postponed due to COVID related issues on the Texas A&M side (they have not played since January 30), so their next game will be at Florida on March 3 at 5:30 p.m. As for home games, they might have a game on March 6, and the opponent could be LSU, Vandy Texas or A&M.
