No. 5 Tigers Wrestling Team Demolishes SIUE in Special Senior Sendoff

Kyle DeBold brings you all of the highlights from 5th ranked Missouri wrestling’s match against SIU-Edwardsville.

Wednesday, Feb. 13-

After putting an inordinate amount of time and effort into one particular craft for roughly four years at a university, there is nothing more fulfilling then finishing with a bang.

Missouri’s wrestling team hosted one heck of a going away party for its seniors Dom Bradley, Brent Haynes, Nicholas Hucke, Mike Larson, Nathan McCormick and Todd Porter with a 48-3 beat-down over SIUE at the Hearnes Center.

The No. 5 Tigers came out on top in nine of the 10 matchups on the night, as the team is now sitting pretty with a 12-2 overall record as it prepares for the NCWA National Duels.

Eight of the nine individual Mizzou winners received bonus points in their respective matches, with the only exception being Bradley.

Of course, the No. 1 ranked heavyweight wrestler in the country is still doing just fine as he continued an undefeated year with a 6-2 victory over opponent David Devine in the last regular-season home match of his collegiate career.

The other seniors were not to be outdone as Larson, Haynes, Hucke and Porter all dominated in their respective matches.

Now that the regular season has come to a close, Mizzou hopes to keep receiving impressive performances from its dominant senior class and show the nation that it is deserving of a top five ranking.

This opportunity starts in the NCWA National Duels Midwest Regional as Missouri hosts No. 16 Purdue, No. 20 Wyoming and unranked Maryland starting at 10:00 a.m. Sunday at the Hearnes Center.
