Monday, March 21–

In four appearances this week, lefty Paige Lowary led the Tigers to a 5-0 record, with just 0.36 ERA over the span of those games to earn the SEC Softball Pitcher of the Week award. Lowary allowed only one earned run through 19.2 innings pitched and struck out 22 batters during that duration.

She entered in relief in three of her appearances, the first being March 16 against Western Illinois. In that game, she shut out the Leathernecks through 5.0 innings.

In the series against New Mexico State this past weekend, she halted the Aggies’ offense, only allowing one run through the 14.2 innings she pitched. In the first game of a doubleheader on March 19, she struck out a season-high eight batters in 3.0 shutout innings to seal the victory.

On the season, Lowary’s ERA sits at 3.21, and she extended her winning streak to seven games. She ranks fourth in the SEC with 12 wins.

Lowary and the Tigers are back in action later today with a doubleheader against UTEP, where they look to keep the streak going.
