Here’s some hot political headlines from this week to warm you up in the midst of this dreary winter weather!

Beginning with a story in St. Louis, a surveillance video sparked media attention this past week revealing a daycare worker throwing a child against a cabinet. Reports claim that the family of the 3-year-old girl were initially told that the cause of their child’s head wound was due to a fall.

After receiving several stitches in the hospital, however, the family asked that footage be shown to prove the injury. According to AP, both have been charged with abusive behavior within the daycare practice.

While Brown was the culprit in this particular incident, charges were also extended to coworker Ariana Silver who “squeezed a 4-year-old girl’s arm and punctured her skin, and then carried the girl by her foot” in a separate report of abuse.

After the midterm elections, many Missourians rejoiced in the legalization of medicinal marijuana. However, the process for those looking to receive a license in growing or selling the plant is seeming to be a tedious process.

Though the state declared that it will distribute a minimum of 24 dispensary licenses, The Missourian reports that over 400 applications have been submitted statewide. Bustling urban areas such as Kansas City appear especially eager to gain access into the marijuana industry, submitting 58 pre-applications since the passing of Amendment 2.
