Pool Tournament, Do or Die

Last Thursday in the Shack, the Student Union Programing Board hosted the first Pool Tournament this year.  Started a few years ago by Mizzou students, this competition pitted sixteen serious pool players against each other for a $100 Visa Gift Card grand prize. Ryan Su lost early in the tournament, but fought his way through the loser’s bracket to get to the finals against Ming, a stone cold billiards man.  In the double elimination finals, Ryan won the first game, putting him and Ming on level footing.  The second game was do-or-die.  Ryan was on a roll until he missed a shot that would lead to him winning.  Ming tried to rally, and got down to only one ball, but missed in a corner pocket.  This left open a perfect shot for Ryan to sink the 8 ball, ending the game and the tournament.
