Mizzou’s First SEC win

Mizzou’s Football team is on a two-game winning streak, which poses the obvious question of can they get their first SEC win against the Florida Gators on Saturday at Farout Field. Quarterback Drew Lock has been on a tear lately. He’s had nine touchdowns and 422 yards during their two-game winning streak. Lock has been in sync with wide receiver J’Mon Moore , the two have connected on 19 receptions that have gone for 270 yards these last two games. Moore seems to be the key to their success, in the three wins that Mizzou has conjured up, he has had 23 receptions that has gone for 457 yards and five touchdowns. Another thing the Tigers will have to do is establish the run game, nearly every passing touchdown was executed on a play action pass. If the Florida bites on the play fakes, Mizzou will jumble up their offense and allow Lock to find holes in the defense.

Interim head coach Randy Shannon announced Thursday that quarterback Malik Zaire will start vs. Mizzou. This comes as a surprise, but it was even more of a surprise back when former head coach Jim McElwain signed Zaire on to the team. Gator fans were expected him to start and make an immediate impact, but that is not close to what happened. He’s been shown limited minutes in the offense and this will be his first start. This is going to be hard for Mizzou’s defensive coordinator DeMontie Cross to plan for, due to the lack of film and that Zaire has been known to make plays with his legs in the two games that he’s played.
