The Mizzou soccer team rallied behind 3 second half goals to draw with the Ole Miss Rebels Friday night in Oxford, MS. Jessica Johnson recorded her first two goals of her career, while Kaysie Clark added the equalizer late in regulation.

The draw gives Mizzou a 10-4-3 overall record and a 5-3-1 record in Southeastern Conference play. Ole Miss comes out of the game with a 7-5-5 record (2-3-4 in the SEC).

The Rebels jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first half, as Olivia Harrison (8’) and Jessica Hiskey (29’) both beat Missouri goalkeeper McKenzie Sauerwein.

The Tigers found life after the halftime break, as Johnson would take advantage of the Ole Miss goalkeeper fumbling a cross and tucked the ball into the back of the net.

The Rebels would respond four minutes later, when Gretchen Harknell struck in the 60th minute. Harknell found the ball at the top of the box and fired a shot through a mass of bodies inside the box. The goal gave Ole Miss another two score lead.

Mizzou would answer in the 62nd minute, as Johnson struck a beautiful header off of an Alli Magaletta corner kick to bring the Tigers within one goal.

Mizzou would finally found an equalizer in the 84th minute on Ole Miss hand ball inside the penalty box. Kaysie Clark stepped up and drilled a wonderful shot over the Ole Miss wall and into the upper right corner of the net to square the game at 3-all.

Ole Miss nearly stole the game in the 89th minute of the game, but Rebel Addie Forbus only found the Mizzou crossbar.

Both teams were deadlocked in the two periods of overtime, as there were only three shots attempted in the extra time periods.

Tiger goalkeeper Sauerwein recorded her season high in saves, tallying eight in the draw. Ole Miss outshot the Tigers 23-20, while also having an advantage in shots on goal at 11-10.

Mizzou returns to action on Sunday in Knoxville, TN as they take on the Tennessee Volunteers. Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on ESPNU.
