Coming off of a tight 4-3 victory against Furman earlier in the day, the Missouri women’s tennis team bounced back to dominate South Carolina Upstate in a confidence-boosting 6-1 victory.

It was utter domination for the Tigers out of the gate, as their only match loss came by way of retirement in the singles match with Cassidy Spearman unable to go on.

Freshman Turner Yates was the highlight of the singles matches. She defeated her opponent Ruby Kubac in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. In the six singles matches the Tigers played, they only dropped an astonishing seven combined games to their opponents.

Yates would continue her domination in the doubles match with the help of Brittany Lashway. The dynamic duo handled their work well shutting out the doubles pair of Ruby Kubac and Anna Nemeth, 6-0.

The Tigers will take things back into the SEC and head to Columbia, South Carolina, to take on the Gamecocks on Thursday.
