Tennis wins 7-0 against IUPUI and Missouri State

The Missouri Tigers tennis team dominated their doubleheader on Saturday at the Mizzou Tennis Complex, defeating both IUPUI and Missouri State by a score of 7-0. Sophomore Beatriz Machado Santos, who finished 4-0 in the matches, highlighted the performance.

Santos’ two victories kept her undefeated in singles play, while junior Kelli Hine extended her winning streak to six matches.

Freshman Brittany Lashway gained two victories Saturday, continuing her early success in doubles play this season as she now has a 4-0 record in doubles.

Hine, Lashway, junior Madison Rhyner and sophomore Cassidy Spearman each finished with combined 3-0 records in singles and doubles.

When facing IUPUI, Spearman and Claire Raley each won a singles set 6-0. In doubles, Clark and Spearman won their match in one 6-0 set. The closest match for any Mizzou player was Hine’s two-set victory over Valeriia Lavrenchuk, 6-3, 6-3.

Rhyner recorded the most dominant win against IUPUI over Abbey Neff when she won both sets by a score of 6-1.

Against Missouri State, Hine closed out Ema Turudija 6-4, 6-3.

In singles, Rhyner, Santos, Raley and Lashway each took a 6-0 set in their matches, while Hine and Rhyner took their doubles match 6-0.

Santos, Raley and Lashway all recorded straight set wins.

Up next for the Tigers is Colorado State Saturday in Lincoln, Nebraska. Matches will start at 11 a.m.
