The Shack Hosts Homecoming Talent Watch Party

Tuesday, Oct. 30-

The Shack hosted a packed house and streamed Homecoming talents live on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday last week. The results of the talent proportion of Homecoming were announced Sunday.

Chi Omega and Alpha Epsilon Pi received first place in talent. Their dancers mixed Beatles lyrics with top chart beats to perform an original number. The costumes included light up jumpsuits that outlined the dancers while in a pitch-black backdrop.

Alpha Chi Omega, Alpha Gamma Rho, and Tau Kappa Epsilon’s “lone ranger and greed for gold” theme rewarded them with second place. Jesse Hall teamed up with the Lone Ranger and his sidekick, Tanto, in a race against Earl to find the gold.

“The Roaring 20s” came alive by Kappa Kappa Gamma and Delta Tau Delta, which landed the team in third place for talent. Their skit about filming a 1920s movie, which included a crazy director and a kidnapping mime, kept the audience laughing.

Kappa Alpha Theta, Farmhouse, and Phi Gamma Delta channeled their inner Indiana Jones for their Egyptian theme. Dancers performed to hits “Thriller,” “Monster” and “We’re Taking Over” in mummy and traditional Egyptian attire. Their performance earned the team fourth place.

Placing fifth out of fourteen teams, Phi Mu, Delta Sigma Phi, and Beta Sigma Psi channeled their inner medieval times. In their skit, the witch was seeking revenge on the king for cheating. A Skrillex medley performed by the dancers left the audience dancing in their seats.

The Shack had a full house during the live streams on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Food catered by Mort’s was free for guests.

Those who could not attend the live showing at Jesse Hall or streaming at the Shack could watch online for free. The performances have been viewed over 5000 times online.
