Tiger Swimming Hosts Invite

Mary Kate Burgess brings you all the action as the Missouri swimming and diving teams go right into the Tiger Invitational at Mizzou Aquatic Center.

Friday, Feb. 1-

Sophomore Igor Kozlovskij was victorious and clocked in his best time of the season in the 100-meter butterfly and sophomore Danielle Spradlin beat out senior Dominique Bouchard in the women’s 200-meter individual medley as the Missouri men’s and women’s swimming teams competed in day one of the Tiger Invite at the Mizzou aquatic center.

The Invite served as a tune-up, as it is the teams’ last event before the SEC championship later in the month.

Danielle Barbiea finished first in both the women’s 100-meter butterfly and 50-meter free. Barbiea won the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 54.14 and posted a time of 22.99 in the 50-meter free.

Junior Logan Mosley, who finished second to Kozlovskij in the men’s 100-meter butterfly, was victorious in the 50-meter butterfly with a time of 21.19. Junior Mark Conroy finished just behind Mosley behind a 21.19 split.

Freshman Daniel Gravis and sophomore Eagan Groome had a close battle in the men’s 500-meter freestyle. Groome slightly edged out Gravis in the event by less than seven tenths of a second.

The teams will compete in the Invite on Saturday before traveling to College Station, Texas, for the Southeastern Conference Championships on Feb. 19-23.
