Tiger Volleyball Continues Their Dominance

 The Mizzou Volleyball team (12-7, 5-1 SEC) swept the Mississippi Bulldogs 3-0 (25-22, 25-15, 25-20) Friday to improve their win-streak to five matches. This is their fourth consecutive Southeastern Conference victory and third straight match sweeping the opponent.  

 The match started out close in the box score with the Tigers having 12 kills, three errors, 26 TA, and a hitting percentage of .346, while the Bulldogs had 14 kills, five errors, 28 TA, and a hitting percentage of .321. After the first match things went downhill for the bulldogs. It wasn’t close in the next two sets, with the Tigers finishing with 38 kills, 12 errors, 84 TA, and a hitting percentage of .310 while the Bulldogs finished with 30 kills, 27 errors, 87 TA, and a hitting percentage of .034. Some notable performances for the Tigers include junior Alyssa Munlyn with seven kills on .750 hitting, two solo blocks, and five total blocks, redshirt freshman Kayla Caffey with six kills on .500 hitting, two digs, and three total blocks, freshman Dariana Hollingsworth: six kills on .385 hitting, two aces, and one total block, and redshirt senior Melanie Crow with five kills on .385 hitting, one ace, one dig, two total blocks. Crow getting five kills tonight surpassed the 100-kill mark for the season making the spectacular Tiger offense first in the SEC with seven players with 100-plus kills.  

 Mizzou is back in action with SEC action against the Tennessee Volunteers Sunday, October 15. First serve will be in Knoxville, Tenn. at 12:30 CT.
