The Missouri Tigers fell short to their SEC opponent the Tennessee Volunteers this past Sunday in Knoxville, Tennessee. This game ended the Tigers 5 match Southeastern Conference winning streak with losing to Tennessee 3-1 (22-25, 20-25, 25-17, 21-25).

Although the Tigers may have fell short to the Vols, their individual performances on the court did not go unnoticed. Redshirt Senior Kira Larson had her six double-double this season. Missouri’s most outstanding performance came from true Freshman Leketor Member-Meneh. Member-Meneh had 17 kills and 3 digs; 4 of those kills came from her explosive opening set. Member-Meneh completed her fifth double-digit kill match of the year, as well as launching a new SEC single-match best.  Member-Meneh did this alongside Larson who completed her sixth double-digit kill match of the year, and Senior Sydney Deeken secured her seventh of the season.

Losing the first two sets the Tigers were successful in the third with an early 12-4 lead against the Vols. Kira Larson also had incredible 10-0 scoring run to lead this set. The final set was a competitive one with six ties throughout. Mizzou retained a 15-13 lead halfway through, but the Vols responded with a 12-6 run to finish their match victory. Missouri Volleyball is now 5-2 for their conference play.

Mizzou will play next play this Friday in Missouri at the Hernes Center against Southeastern Conference opponent the Georgia Bulldogs at 6:30 PM.
