The Missouri Tigers took on the Texas A&M Aggies on Friday at the Hearnes Center. The Aggies had lost three of their last four matches going into the game, and had managed to win only won one road game all season. The Aggies’ road troubles continued as they were swept my Mizzou in three sets. This win marked the Tigers third in a row.

Texas A&M did not go down without a fight, however. They stuck with the Tigers in the first two sets, losing 25-23 both times. In the third set, the Aggies seemed to have nothing left in the tank, and Mizzou took the match with ease, winning 25-19.

For the Mizzou, Leketor Member-Meneh was the only Tiger to reach double-digit kills, leading the team with 12. Freshman Kayla Caffey came in second for Mizzou, totaling seven kills. Courtney Eckenrode, a senior from The Woodlands, Texas, led the team with twenty-four assists.

Head coach Wayne Kreklow spoke on the difficulty of going up against a tough Aggie team. “I thought we did a nice job tonight in a lot of different areas against an RPI top-50 team. When it gets late in the year like this, you have to start winning these types of matches if you want to keep playing at the end of the year. A lot of our players made plays when we needed them.” (mutigers.com)

Mizzou will take on LSU in their next match. This game will be at home in the Hearnes Center on Sunday.
