The Missouri Tigers traveled to Oxford, Mississippi to face SEC Conference opponent Ole Miss on Saturday. Both teams came into this game fresh off a win, with Missouri just holding on over Arkansas 79-78, and the Rebels looking to build their three-game winning streak. The Rebels got off to a big lead, and while Missouri was able to get close late, Ole Miss came away with the 75-65 victory.

Ole Miss did not trail a single time in the game. The Rebels forced the Tigers to cough up 25 turnovers, which accounted for 36 of the Rebels 75 points. The Tigers managed to stay competitive in the game despite struggling on the offensive side of the ball. The Tigers also played more than half the game without starting big man Jeremiah Tilmon, who played only 15 minutes due to foul trouble. If there is a positive for the Tigers to take from this game it’s that Mizzou was able to out rebound Ole Miss 37-21.

The Tigers were led by senior Guard, Jordan Geist, who scored a team high 23 points. Missouri also received help from maturing freshman Guard, Xavier Pinson, who netted 11 points and snatched a team high nine rebounds.

The Rebels victory over the Tigers was a full team effort as they had four players score in double digits. The SEC’s second leading scorer, Breein Tyree, helped lead the Rebels to victory, scoring 14 points. Ole Miss received a big spark off the bench as senior forward Bruce Stevens scored a team high and his personal season high 17 points in route to the 75-65 victory.

The Missouri Tigers now travel back to Columbia and prepare for the Kentucky Wildcats to come to town. The Tigers host the Wildcats on Tuesday, February 19th. The games tipoff time is 8 p.m. and the game will be aired on ESPN.
