Tigers Get Ninth In Mountain View Collegiate

The Missouri women’s golf team played in the Mountain View Collegiate and managed ninth place with an overall score of 25-over-par.

The Big 12 played well overall as Texas Tech placed first with a score of six under par. Iowa State placed second with one-under-par.

Taylor Gohn led the Tigers in the three round tournament, shooting a three round total of 220. Gohn had a solid start to the tournament, shooting an even-par 72 in the first round. She followed with scores of 73 and 75 to end the tournament four-over-par. Gohn placed tied for 23rd individually.

The Tigers were very consistent over the three rounds, as they stayed in mid-70s for most of the rounds. Hannah Lovelock had a good tournament for Missouri as well, finishing tied for 29th. Lovelock shot an even-par 72 to end a good tournament. She was very consistent during the whole tournament, shooting 75 in each of her first two rounds, then improving to shoot even par.

Alina Rodgers was the sole Tiger to shoot under par in the tournament. Rodgers managed to shoot one-under-par with a 71 in her final round. Rodgers tied teammate Marissa Cook for 40th. Both shot a 225 for the tournament. Rodgers was hurt by shooting eight-over-par in the second round.

The Tigers will next go to Athens, Ga. to golf in the Liz Murphy Invitational on Friday, March 30.
