After suffering tough losses in four of their last five matches, the Missouri Tigers volleyball team [6-5] turned things around and pulled off an impressive sweep of the Pepperdine Waves in their first match of the Nevada Tournament on Saturday.

The first set of the match was extremely close on both ends. The two teams traded leads five total times in the set, and up until the Tigers took a 23-20 lead, there was never more than a two-point difference between them. Senior Sydney Deeken finished this set off by getting the kill in the final two points, allowing Missouri to win the set 25-22.

Set two, much like the first set, was extremely close for the majority of the time. Through the first 30 points, the two teams were tied in score 14 times. However, once the score became 15-15, the Tigers turned things up and won six of their next seven points to take a lead that the Waves could not come back from. The Tigers won this set 25-21.

The third and final set was a nail biter for Mizzou fans, as the Waves were able to gain a strong 20-13 lead. That was followed up by Tigers pulling off one of their most impressive comebacks of the season as they were able to nearly even the score at 23-20. The Waves took the next point and the Tigers, knowing that one more point would give the Waves the set, rallied back by getting a kill from Kira Larsen, two kills from Leketor Member-Meneh, and an ace from Kayla Caffey to tie it up at 24. The Tigers and Waves proceeded to traded off points all the way up until they were tied at 31, before a Kira Larsen kill and a Leketor Member-Meneh block sealed both the set and the match for the Tigers.
