After a 2nd place finish at the Paradise Jam, the Tigers traveled back to Columbia to host the
Temple Owls (5-1). The Tigers looked to bounce back from their loss against Kansas State as they took on
the Temple Owls at Mizzou Arena. The game was fairly close throughout, but in the end the Owls took it, 79-77.

The Tigers struggled to hold on to the ball as they turned the ball over 15 times and the Owls stole
the ball a total of eight times. The Tigers did find success offensively by shooting a season high 57.9 percent
(11-19) from behind the three-point line. Mizzou was also successful on the glass as they snatched a total
of 38 rebounds compared to Temple’s 25 boards. The Tigers were led by a group of players,
Sophomore guard Mark Smith led Missouri with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while senior forward Kevin
Puryear added 16 points and starting big man Jeremiah Tilmon had 14 points and 10 rebounds.

It was the Owls 42 point first half pushed them past the Tigers. Temple was led by Junior
Guard Quinton Rose who had 18 points and 4 steals and received big man Ernest Aflakpui who grabbed
12 rebounds and scored 8 points. The Owls were able to hold off the Tigers late second half run to earn a
big road win against a Power 5 opponent.

The Tigers now look to snap their 2-game losing streak as the University of Central Florida Knights
travel to Columbia on Sunday. The game will be played at Mizzou Arena, and will be aired on ESPNU at 2
p.m. Central Time
