It finally happened again, the Chiefs lost a game. Sunday, they fell to the Las Vegas Raiders 40-32. It was an interesting game, for starters the Chiefs looked red hot coming out of the gates in the first half then scored a mere eight points in the second half.

The defense after being respectable through the first four games collapsed on itself today especially in the second quarter. The Raiders scored three touchdowns against the Chiefs in that quarter with two huge Mahomes-like plays by Derek Carr. A long touchdown pass to a wide open Nelson Agholor and a throw to an equally wide open Henry Ruggs. The Chiefs defense just could not stop the Raiders through the air or ground, rarely winning the battle at the line of scrimmage. Bashaud Breeland played well in his first game back with an interception, and Wille Gay Jr. got his first NFL sack but other than that there was not a lot to get excited about when watching the Chiefs defense today.

The offense started off strong in the first half being up 14-3, and 21-10. It looked like the Raiders would not be able to stop the high powered Chiefs offense. However, in the second half the Chiefs offense wasn’t able to get anything going until it was too late. The biggest problem was Patrick Mahomes had no time the entire day. Mitchell Schwartz, our star Right Tackle looked overmatched against Maxx Crosby. The offense will rebound, and it’s obviously tough to complain about a 32 point performance but the offensive line and rushing attack will need to be better to help this offense reach its true potential.

Up Next: The Chiefs 4-1 will be going up against the 4-0 Bills in Buffalo as they look to get back on track. That will be an important game as the Chiefs will need to show their stuff like they did against Baltimore to come out with a win.
