Friday, Nov. 26 –

A season that has been nothing but disappointing for the Mizzou volleyball team ended the same way on a Friday night showdown with the Crimson Tide in a 5 set match loss (27-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-21, 12-15)

Throughout the season the Tigers had usually been playing from behind, losing the first or second set, only to come back and win a set or two. This wasn’t the case on Friday night.

The Tigers started out strong winning the first two sets 27-25 and 25-23 to take a 2-0 advantage. While having opportunities to close out the Crimson Tide, Alabama would rally, as they would take each of the next two sets by a score of 25-21 to tie the game at 2-2, leading to a 5th set.

Alabama went on to win their third consecutive set by a score of 15-12 and win the match 3 sets to 2.

Carly Kan led the Tigers with her 19th double double of 18 kills and 24 digs. Emily Wilson added 13 kills and Sarah Meister put up 14 digs.

For the Tide, Krystal Rivers had a double double of 26 kills and 15 digs, Brittany Thomas also had a double double with 16 kills and 16 digs. Natalie Murison also added 19 digs for Alabama.

The season ends in a disappointing fashion for the Tigers, who finish with an overall record of 16-17, a conference record of 7-11, and a home record of 7-7 after coming off of an astonishing 34-0 record last year, only to lose in the tournament to Purdue.
