Friday Nov. 22-

The Missouri women’s basketball team defeated in-state rival Southeast Missouri State 62-57 to keep its undefeated season alive. The Lady Tigers now improve to 4-0, while SEMO falls to 2-3.

Bri Kulas had another stellar performance as she went for 27 points and 5 rebounds. After last night, Kulas is now averaging 17.5 points per game as well as 5.7 rebounds per game, which makes her the leading scorer and rebounder on the team right now. Being one of the two seniors on this team, Kulas needs to be able to keep putting up these numbers in order for the Tigers win. Her senior leadership is what will be key for Mizzou this season.

Kulas came out firing in the game as she scored Mizzou’s first eight points. SEMO’s Kara Wright was able to answer back as she had four three-pointers in the first half to put SEMO up at halftime 32-23.

The Tigers came out with the spark they needed in the second half. They started out on a 11-1 run to make the score 34-33 and SEMO never led from there. SEMO kept itching its way back into the game, but free throws were key for Mizzou as Maddie Stock and Bree Fowler hit two clutch ones to ice the game.

Mizzou will go on the road Saturday to take on Tennessee-Martin.

Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
