COLUMBIA – The MU Women’s Center played the first showing of Makers: Women Who Make America, Thursday evening at 7 p.m. in Wrench Auditorium.

The PBS film is a three-episode documentary exploring the history of the women’s movement from the 1950s through the 2000s. Inspirational women such as Hilary Rodham Clinton, Condoleezza Rice and Betty Friedan are all showcased as leaders of the feminist movement.

The movie night was free to any students who were greeted with free candy at the door as a part of the Love Your Body campaign. Women’s Center student staff introduced the film and offered emotional support to any audience members who may feel uncomfortable at times during the movie.

The next showing of Makers will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10 at 7 p.m. in Jesse Wrench Auditorium.
