Women’s Golf Finishes 12th After Strong Third Round

The Missouri women’s golf team used an impressive third-round performance to finish in 12th place at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.

Michelle Butler propelled the Tigers in the third round with a score 2-over par. Missouri shot 67-over par overall and 16-over par in the third round. Despite the clutch finish by Mizzou, Arkansas captured its second straight tournament title at the event.

Butler finished the tournament tied for 25th overall with a score of 12-over par. She recorded five birdies and led the Tigers through the final two rounds of play.

Taylor Gohn led Mizzou in the first round and finished the meet in 37th overall with a score of 15-over par. She stepped up her game in the third round and made three birdies to score 3-over par in the final 18 holes.

Jess Meek was the third and final Lady Tiger to finish in the top 50 with a 48th place finish. Meek shot 18-over par through three rounds and tied Gohn in the final round with a score of 3-over par.
The Tigers will next be in action at the MountainView Classic in Tuscon, Ariz., on March 28-29.
