The Missouri Tigers wrestling team dominated the American University Eagles with a 34-3 win. The win extended the Tigers unbeaten dual streak to 21 duals this year and 25 straight from last season.

In the final home match of the year, sophomore J’den Cox shined as he pinned Brett Dempsey to improve his overall record to 27-0. His eighth fall of the season extended his NCAA leading win streak to 47 straight matches.

Missouri got off to a red-hot start when they won four of the first five matches as redshirt sophomores Lavion Myers and Zach Synon picked up 3-1 and 2-1 victories. Also, redshirt senior Alan Waters took home a 5-0 victory, which improved his record to 24-0 this year.

One of the biggest surprises of the night was at 157, where sophomore Joey Lavaliee dropped a 3-2 decision to John Boyle.

But redshirt senior Mikey England was able to help the Tigers bounce back as they recorded the team’s first bonus points victory of the day when he defeated Brad Mutchnik on a 14-3 major decision.

Redshirt junior Le’Roy Barnes extended his perfect record in duel competitions to 6-0 after gaining an 11-4 decision, while improving his overall record to 16-6. Redshirt senior Johnny Eblen took home a major decision when he beat Nick Carey 12-2. Redshirt freshman Willie Miklus also added a major decision victory with a 13-3 win.

Redshirt senior Devin Mellon finished off Missouri’s big victory when he picked up a major decision victory with a 13-1 triumph over Chris McDermand.

Up next for the Tigers is the 2015 NWCA National Duels Finals. The event will be held at the University of Iowa from Feb. 21-22 and Missouri’s opponent will be determined through this week’s USA Today / NWCA Division I Coache
