Currently ranked No. 3 in the nation, the Missouri Tigers wrestling team continued their undefeated season after a 30-9 win against the SIUE Cougars on Wednesday night.

Mizzou had a rocky start, losing two of their first matches, one to a decision loss and the other to a forfeit. This put the Cougars up 9-0. The Tigers would not let those points go unanswered, though, as they did not allow another point on the board, and earning 30 points of their own over the final eight matches.

Number two ranked Jaydin Eierman came out and fought hard through his match. Showing a few mistakes, and having to fight for a win, he got the Tigers on track by winning his match, 17-15.

Wins just kept on coming as Alex Butler, Connor Flynn, Willie Miklus and Wyatt Koelling all took wins by decision.

At 157, Joey Lavallee proved his ranking as No. 4 in the nation by recording his 10th career tech fall over SIUE’s Karsten Van Velsor. Lavallee racked up five takedowns and two near-falls in the first period to end the match with a score of 20-5.

At 174, Daniel Lewis, ranked No. 3, continued his undefeated season with yet another tech fall for the Tigers, winning his match 16-0. Lewis falls just one short of Lavallee in career tech falls.

The Tigers were not done there. At 184, Canten Marriott continued the tech fall streak, winning his match 18-3.

The team looks to continue their winning streak with their next dual versus Northern Iowa coming up this weekend.
