Mizzou wrestling remained perfect Sunday afternoon and improved its dual winning streak to 32 straight matches. The Tigers knocked off the Bobcats of Ohio on Sunday by a final score of 27-9.

A pair of redshirts led the Tigers as redshirt junior Lavion Mayes and redshirt freshman Daniel Lewis were able to score bonus points in the dual. They each earned a major decision and technical fall, respectively.

The dual kicked off at 149 pounds with Mayes against Cullen Cummings. The battle was fought evenly during the first two periods. Heading into the third period, the score was tied 8-8 until Mayes dominated and took control of the final two minutes. He outscored Cummins 12-4 to earn the major decision 20-12.

Coming in at 165 pounds, Lewis took care of Austin Reese in seven minutes as he earned a 17-1 technical fall. Lewis also added a takedown in the final seconds to give Mizzou five points.

Redshirt senior and 174-pounder Blaise Butler and redshirt sophomore 184-pounder Willie Miklus added decision wins 5-4 and 9-3, respectively.

The heavyweight match saw freshman James Romero grab his first dual win of his career as he defeated Jesse Webb by way of decision 9-4.

The Tigers were also able to add three decision victories thanks to redshirt sophomore 125-pounder Barlow McGhee, redshirt junior 133-pounder Zach Synon and redshirt junior 141-pounder Matt Manley in the final three matches. Mizzou closed out the scoring at 27-19.

Mizzou will be back in action on Sunday, Dec. 20, as the team travels to Kent, Ohio, to take on Kent State for a Mid-American Conference matchup.
