Saturday, January 30—

Just a week after falling to a top-5 ranked Oklahoma State team, the Missouri Tigers bounced back at home against the 7th ranked Oklahoma Sooners.

Barlow McGhee started things off for the Tigers, but he and Zach Synon both lost their matches, and the Sooners took an early 6-0 lead. The momentum shifted for the Tigers when 141-pounder Matt Manley with a pin and victory by fall, tying the match at 6-6.

A Lavion Mayes victory put the Tigers up 9-6 and his individual record at 20-0 on the season.

Le’Roy Barnes and Daniel Lewis went on to win their matches, and Blaise Butler followed suit with a win of his own by victory fall.

With Mizzou up 22-6, Cody Johnston helped start to put the match away as he beat Andrew Dixon 16-0 by tech fall. No. 2 J’den Cox went on to defeat his opponent 9-0 by major decision.

In what was the 11th largest crowd for a Mizzou wrestling event, the Tigers found themselves back on track in their quest for another national title. Their next match is Sunday, Jan. 31, against the No. 24 ranked Old Dominion.
